Breakfast Around the World
Breakfast is the first meal of the day. But people in different countries eat very different things.
The USA. Many Americans have cereal with milk. On weekends, a lot of families make pancakes with butter and maple syrup. There is a lot of sugar in this breakfast!
Japan. A traditional Japanese breakfast is a big meal. There is rice, some fish, an egg and a bowl of miso soup. People drink green tea. There isn't much sugar.
Mexico. Mexicans often have eggs with salsa, beans and tortillas. Salsa is a sauce of tomatoes, onions and chili peppers. It's hot!
France. French people usually have a small breakfast: a croissant or some bread with jam, and a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. They don't eat many eggs for breakfast.
Czechia. Czech people often eat bread rolls with butter, ham or cheese, and some vegetables, like tomatoes or peppers. They drink tea, coffee or milk.
