What Can Animals Do?

People can do a lot of things. But some animals can do amazing things, too!

The cheetah is a big cat from Africa. It can run 110 kilometers an hour. That's as fast as a car on a highway! But it can't run very far.

The hummingbird is a very small bird. It can fly up, down, forward and even backward. No other bird can do that!

The octopus has eight arms. It can change its color in a second, so its enemies can't see it. Octopuses are smart, too. They can open jars!

The dolphin loves playing and jumping. It can sleep with one eye open, so it can watch for danger.

And some animals can't do very simple things. Kangaroos can jump very well, but they can't walk backward. Elephants are very strong, but they can't jump at all!
