Road Trip to the Grand Canyon
Jake's blog · August 12
Last week, my family went on a trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. We flew from Columbus to Phoenix. There, Dad rented a big car, and we drove north. The drive took about four hours. Sam slept in the car the whole time!
When we got to the canyon, nobody said anything. It was huge! The Grand Canyon is 446 kilometers long and almost two kilometers deep. The rocks were red, orange and purple.
The next morning, we got up at five and saw the sunrise. Emma took two hundred photos. Then we walked down a trail into the canyon. Down there, it was really hot, almost forty degrees. We drank a lot of water and ate our sandwiches in the shade.
In the afternoon, the sky became dark, and a big storm came. We ran back to the car. We weren't wet, but Buster's favorite toy was! (Yes, it came with us.)
This fall, Bára read this old post and asked: "Did you see any animals?" Yes, we did! We saw a lot of squirrels and two big birds, California condors. Did you know that they are very rare?
