You'll never guess what happened to me last week.

Did I ever tell you about ?

It was late at night and I'd been traveling for hours.

All of a sudden,

Just as I was about to ,

And then, to make matters worse,

It turned out that

In the end,

No way!

You're kidding!

What happened next?

That must have been terrifying.

Oh no, poor you!

Looking back, it was actually quite funny.

Conversation 24, B2. Dialogue: A night in Lisbon.

A Did I ever tell you about the night I got locked out in Lisbon?

B No! What happened?

A Well, it was about midnight and I'd been walking around the city all day. I got back to the hostel, and just as I was about to open the door, I realized my key card was gone.

B You're kidding!

A And to make matters worse, my phone was dead, so I couldn't call anyone.

B That must have been terrifying. What did you do?

A I sat on the steps for an hour. Then a guy came out, and it turned out he was the night manager. He'd been looking for the owner of a key card he'd found on the stairs.

B No way! So it had been there all the time?

A Exactly. Looking back, it was actually quite funny.
