Přepis / Transcript

Conversation Workbook, level B1, lesson 2. Talking about yourself.

Exercise 3. Listen to the conversation. An interview for a summer camp.

So, Tomáš, tell me a bit about yourself.

Well, I'm seventeen and I live in Hradec Králové. I'm in my third year at a grammar school.

How would you describe yourself?

People say I'm quite easy-going and patient, but I can be a bit stubborn sometimes.

Have you ever worked with children?

Yes, I've been a volunteer at a scout club for two years. I lead a group of ten-year-olds.

What do you do in your free time?

I used to play football, but now I'm more into climbing. I go twice a week.

And what are your plans after school?

I'd like to study to be a P.E. teacher, ideally in Olomouc.

That fits well with this job. What I like most about your answers is that you've got real experience.

Exercise 4. Your turn. Listen, stop the recording and answer. Then listen to a possible answer.

A.

I get along really well with my dad; we have a lot in common.

C.

Is there anything you used to do but don't do anymore?

I used to play the piano, but now I'm more into sports.

D.

What are your plans after school?

I'd like to study IT, ideally in Prague.

E.

Have you ever been abroad?

Yes, I've been to Ireland twice. It's one of my favorite places.

F.

What's a typical weekday like for you?

On a typical weekday, I get up at six thirty and catch the bus at seven.

This is the end of the recording.
