Conversation Workbook, level B1, lesson 14. Food and eating out.

Exercise 3. Listen to the conversation. A birthday dinner.

Good evening, Luigi's. How can I help you?

Hi, I'd like to book a table for six for Saturday evening, around seven.

Let me check ... Seven is full, but we have a table at seven thirty.

That's fine. It's my mom's birthday. Could we have a table by the window?

Of course. Any special requests?

Yes. My sister is allergic to peanuts. Is your food safe for her?

We don't use peanuts in the kitchen, but some desserts have other nuts. Just tell the server.

Great. And could we bring our own birthday cake?

Yes, there's a small charge of ten dollars for that.

No problem. The reservation is under Kučera. K-U-C-E-R-A.

Perfect. A table for six at seven thirty on Saturday. See you then!

Exercise 4. Your turn. Listen, stop the recording and answer. Then listen to a possible answer.
