Star-Spangled Englishcw2-22 · Conversation Workbook A2–B1
Conversation Workbook, level B1, lesson 22. Maturita step 4: interaction toolkit.
Exercise 3. Listen to the conversation. Planning a class trip.
So, we need to decide where to go on our class trip. What about Prague?
I see your point, but we went to Prague last year. Why don't we go to the mountains instead?
The mountains sound nice. Which ones?
The Krkonoše. We could stay in a cabin and go hiking, because it would be cheaper than a hotel.
Good idea. But some people don't like hiking. What do you think?
If that's a problem, we could rent bikes too. There are good cycling paths there.
OK. And when should we go? What about the first week of June?
I'm afraid that won't work, because we have tests then. Would the second week work for you?
Yes, that's fine. How much would it cost?
About a hundred and fifty dollars each, including food.
So, we've agreed on the Krkonoše, the second week of June, a cabin and bikes. Have we agreed, then?
Yes. Great. I'll take care of the booking.
Exercise 4. Your turn. Listen, stop the recording and answer. Then listen to a possible answer.
A.
We need to buy a present for our teacher. What do you suggest?
What about a book? She loves reading.
B.
A book? But it's a bit boring.
I see your point, but we could choose a funny one.
C. Ask your partner for an opinion.
What do you think? Would that work for you?
D.
A big bunch of flowers costs fifty dollars.
If that's too expensive, we could buy a small plant instead.
E.
OK, so what have we decided?
So, we've agreed to buy a funny book and a card. Have we agreed, then?
F.
Who will buy it?
I'll take care of it.
This is the end of the recording.
