Part 2. You will hear a conversation between two friends about summer jobs.

Hi Ryan! You look happy. Good news?

Yeah, I got the job at Pine Lake summer camp! I'm going to work with kids from eight to twelve.

That's great! I'm still looking. Last summer I worked at the supermarket, and I really don't want to do that again. Twelve hours on my feet at the cash register.

I remember. You were always so tired. Well, the camp starts on the twentieth of June, and it lasts eight weeks.

Is the money good?

Not bad. Three hundred dollars a week, and they pay us at the end of every week, which is nice. Plus food and a bed, of course.

Sounds perfect. Is there a catch?

Well, we can't use our phones when we're with the kids. Only in the evening, after nine. And I'll have to share a cabin with five ten-year-olds.

Ha! Good luck with that. Do they still need people?

Actually, yes. They need someone who can teach swimming. You were on the swim team, weren't you?

For four years. But don't you need a lifeguard certificate for that?

You do, but the camp runs a course in the first week, and it's free. You just need to be a good swimmer.

Wow. Okay, who should I contact?

The director, Mrs. Patel. I'll text you her e-mail address.

Thanks! I'll write to her this evening, before somebody else gets the job.
