Part 2. You will hear a conversation between neighbors about a street party.

Good morning, Mr. Green! Have you heard about the street party?

Morning, Linda. Only a little. When is it?

On Saturday, the fourteenth of September. We finally got permission from the city, so the whole street will be closed to cars from noon.

That's wonderful. We had one here years ago, back in the nineties, I think. Mrs. Brown organized it.

Well, this time it's me. The idea is simple: every family brings some food to share, and we'll put it all on long tables in the middle of the street.

Tables? Where will you get so many?

The church is lending us twenty. I was going to ask if you have any garden chairs.

I have six. You can have all of them. What about music?

The Parkers' son has a band with three friends from high school. They're actually pretty good.

As long as they're not too loud! How long will it go on?

Officially until ten. After that, the street opens again.

And is it free?

Yes, but we'll have a box for donations. The money will go to the animal shelter on Elm Road.
