Final reading. Read the diagnostic text from chapter 1 again and compare.

Last summer, my cousin Beth, a keen photographer, decided to photograph every bridge in Pittsburgh. She thought it would take a weekend. It took three months.

Did you really think there were only twenty? I asked.

I didn't say twenty, she laughed. I said twenty-[one] – in the first street I checked!

The project has since become a small exhibition, and the photographs are, honestly, quite beautiful.
